All eyes are these days fixed on how to have, whence to have i.e. amassing more on more on more, always.Consequently, there is no spare for any soul to shift his focus.THIS IS SUICIDAL,SELF-IMMOLATION.But unless one reads, how can one enrich oneself?Reading is enlightenment, mapping unchartered realms leagues beyond those leagues.Reading establishes a tie between one and another. And this facilitates the founding of a society,a society of reciprocity, both between a character high-placed in intellectual acquisition and one humbled in this regard.Afterall,no man is supposed to be self-sufficient or too self-equipped to pay deaf ears to what others say. Moreover,so encyclopaedic is the Book of Life that one's solo study of it avails little. At most what can one take pride in in such a dogged pursuit is just a few scraps of information that no engineer can design any thing whole out of them.To mataphorize it in a Shakespearean mould,it shall be just"a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing!"
Now,a questin. Why my choosing such a topic?Sailorbits has for long offered to its members a SKY,to style it precisely. The members are all freed birds to wing about this Sky.And as they would do so fom above shall be poured adown the ether dews and rains that would moisten many a thirsty soul on the earth, resulting in inspiriting them to discover themselves.Nobody can deny that self-awareness is the highest conceivable wisdom for Man to aspire for in his life.Members are actually under an imperative to lend themselves for the good of others;they cannot shirk this responsibility. In order to take one into brother's arms, one must enlarge oneself;one must accomodate another into one's ideas, beliefs, convictions, attitudes.Ofcourse,it involves time, tolls one's patience, taxes one's nerves, and the like.Let Sailorbits be a skylab where alamb may be transfigured into a tiger and vice versa. The image of lamb is purported to represent one who is just a lump of innocence, but who is avid to fathom a depth and mount a height.Allow me to sing to myself in this context a hit Bengali song of Hemanta Mukhopadhyay:"Bandhu, tomar pather sathire chine neo/Paro jadi tare buker majhete tene neo."
On the contrary, the image of the tiger,As Blake interprets it,is the image of the knower, one who knows but seldom is in the habit to allow others partake of it.For he fears, in that case, his supremacy is likely to be at a stake.Absolutely wrong is this self-complacency.It is egotism at other's cost, hence heinous. The more one gives oneself away the more one acquires. It is like digging a hole in the earth to find it grow into a pond one day. When knoledge is spent nothing is spent.Because it is an investment that entails no loss,Never,Never.
This septuagenarian only wants this much from his young friends:Explore yourselves to discover that you are really great and worthy to be associated members of the internatinal enterprise, called Sailorbits.Thank you all and good luck1
