What If

How many of us have wondered;about our lives at different juncture and uttered the word “what if” ;--i know i have. Haven’t you too? There are so few people on this earth who are happy in absolute terms--far from it ,in fact. In todays life of materialism, where all of us are so busy running after;mere trinckets that money can buy---we forget to stop and wonder at;what we actually have--instead we hanker after that which is not;with us.;I do not say that one should not dream and have the ambition to fulfill that dream--but to;go through life at such a break neck speed----STOP---and look what you actually have.;<br /> ;; Appearing on Page 3, wearing the latest designer clothes, acquiring state of the art gizmos, and the fastest cars--is that what live is all about? You see your life flashing before your eyes and suddenly u look at yourself in the mirror and you are looking at a stranger--a stranger without friends, a stranger without love and one who has no one to turn to. And then you wonder--”What If”---i had made those choises instead of that--”what if” i had asked her to be by my side,” what if” i had been there for my sons birthday, “what if” i was there to hold my fathers hand when he needed me instead of packing him off to an expensive retirement home, “what if” i had given my old , not so high profile friend the little money he had asked for---oh!--too many “what ifs”--dont you think. <br /> Why not instead make the changes--as many as possible, so that we dont have to go through so many “what ifs.” Dont just drive through the highways at break neck speed--stop and look at the beautiful green fields , walk bare feet on the early morning grass and you will feel the wet dew kissing your feet, smell the rains when it first falls on the dry parched land,take day off to be for your sons birthday,give your friend the money he needs so desperately instead of looking down on him,hold your partners hand when; she is crying silly seeing her favourire Sharukh die in aYash Raj film, give you dad ahug every now or then instead of being embarressed for his not knowing that perfect english---so go on, now do it--dont just sit there any more--and you will see how beautiful life is !!
