Windows !!! As we all know the window to the world of computing for almost all of us......We have come a long way since the DOS days to the present & modern Windows Vista !! Reminds me of my first computer, a Pentium 2 with 4.1 GB Hard disc, 64MB RAM, running on Win95 and as fast as my present computer. Did I forget to mention my present computer configs ? Well, its a Dell Laptop with 2.0 GHz Centrino processor, with 2GB DDR2 RAM & 100 GB HDD. So? Whats the big deal?
Well, striving for modern technology & keep oneself updated is good..........but, what, if we are rewinding? Well, I was very happy with this laptop speed running on WinXP...........Then the Geek Bug bit me & upgraded to WinVista to the point of no-return.
Now, the only thing I see whenever I click a mouse is the ever-lasting rotating circle. And then? If you are lucky enough, the desired program runs after a couple of "are you sure" / 'continue" checks. Sounds interesting. Wait, I haven't yet mentioned about the everyday patches from Microsoft & huge Virus database yet.
And, guess what.........to bring my computing experience to total halt, I installed Office 2007.
Now, the point is ......... what's so great about Vista that we compromise so much on speed & performance. The answer is ........ our Greatness ....... greatness to enrich Microsoft .......... to buy their new Windows 7......may be?
One last piece of advice. Want to avoid all these agonies? Go for Mac..........Blazing speed, new user-friendly interface like Windows & zero virus-count in 8 years for OS-X. You know what? You don't even need an anti-virus software on a Mac, as the virus count is zero.
Feel like commenting? You are most welcome. Till then ...... Happy computing !!!
